Love the Journey
Why Study This Mantra...
You will learn how to appreciate your day-to-day struggles as part of the journey. You will kill that urge to be "waiting" for something, and instead, live your life as what it is – a fantastic journey!
Introduction
Life is what's happening to you right now. What are you waiting for?
Enjoying your journey requires that you find everyday meaning and appreciation in your life. You'll spend more time narrowing in your purpose in future months, but by now, you've got a great start. You've written your own story (your "what"), you've identified your pledge (your "how"), and you know your values (your "why"). This combination serves as your north star as you go through the day! It is how you may live with intention.
Now synthesize that with with your Take Notice month, where you learned to live in the moment, and you have a recipe for Loving the Journey!
This month, you'll do just that. Live with intention + Live in the moment = Love the Journey.
Before you begin...
Before you start these practices and challenges, take a moment to rate yourself on this mantra. Give yourself a score from 1-10 (10 being the highest).
Do this again at the end of a month of practices and challenges. How much have you grown?
The Practices
Daily Practice
Exercise
Today's affirmation: "There is no finish line."
As I put on my mantra this morning, I will remind myself of my "what" (my story) my "why" (my values), and my "how" (my pledge). I'll remind myself to be in the moment. Through these two reminders, I'll be able to love this journey I'm on. Even hard tasks, I'll foster a love for those moments.
Thanks to this approach, I won’t be afraid of the risks on my journey, because I won’t be worried about the outcome. That's because I will love this journey I'm on, and I won't not be overly focused on any particular destination. Success or fail, I will be more fulfilled and happier, because I’m living with intention and in the moment.
Monthly Challenge
Go on an Actual Journey
Nothing speaks to loving the journey more than actual journeys. When you travel, you're forced outside your comfort zone, eating at different places, meeting different people, sometimes even speaking a different language. Going outside your comfort zone wakes you up and heightens your awareness of THE (life) journey and how beautiful and amazing it is.
The challenge this month is meant to pair with your Create Moments request from a few months ago – plan/go on a trip. It can be big or small – that's not the point. This is a Love the Journey trip. As long as it's somewhere where you can be out of your element. (Don't go to that safe place where you've been before.) Go somewhere new and at least 10% uncomfortable. Somewhere devoid of the triggers of your habitual self.
Then enjoy yourself. Travel is an awakening, so wake up! And of course, take LOTS of pictures and post a few to social media. Tag us @thebodhiband. We'd love to see!
Happy Travels!
Journaling Practice
Travel Journal
While I'm on my Actual Journey, I will take notice of how I see and think about things differently while traveling. I will record this in my travel journal. Each evening of my trip at the end of the day, I will write down the little things I noticed and the everyday struggles I appreciated because they were part of that journey. I will reflect on the obstacles I overcame on my journey toward my ultimate goal, whatever that may be.
When I get back home, I will use this journal to reflect back on that feeling and keep it alive in my everyday journey.
